SERVICES LIST
CITY at work
partners with schools to create sustainable curricula that incorporates
21st century resources, follows the NYC Scope & Sequence and
NYS Standards, and can be used year after year. The collaboratively
produced curriculum is archived online or published by CITY
at work to ensure access for all new and returning teachers.
Administration and teachers participate in year-long or session-based
workshops that support lesson planning, subject pacing calendars,
interactive learning modules, multimedia resources, technology
training and support for NYC and NYS Standards. Customized packages
also include classroom instruction and model teaching in Science
and Technology. All curriculum in Science, Social Studies, and
Technology is designed to support ELA and literacy goals at all
grade levels.
SCIENCE,
GRADES K-5
Grades
K-5: Pacing,
assessment, curriculum, and Science Fair and Lab support for NYC
Science Scope & Sequence. Implementation of hands-on, inquiry
based instruction with CITYatwork classroom materials, FOSS &
DSM kits, fieldwork, or textbook enhancement.
Grade
4-Exam: Grade-level
support for the NYS Grade 4 Science Exam. Includes curriculum
design, interactive, hands-on activities, testing prep for written
and hands-on exam, and a copyrighted, renewable curricula for
the school to use in subsequent years.
SOCIAL
STUDIES, GRADES K-5
Grades
K-5: Curriculum
design for the NYC Social Studies Scope and Sequence with a school-specific
website for curricula, pacing calendars, online resources, and
unit-based fieldtrips and fieldwork to NYC historical landmarks,
museums, and educational sites.

TECHNOLOGY,
GRADES K-12
Website
Curriculum: Professional
development for staff to design grade or subject-specific websites
for the classroom and archive all curricula. This includes online
instruction, video and multimedia use, and pedagogical issues
of teaching with technology. These sessions may include classroom
instruction for high school students to create e-portfolios.
Digital
Curriculum: Assistance
to school administration, lead and cluster teachers, and classroom
teachers to digitize their curricula for sustained, renewable
teaching on a school-specific website. Includes instruction in
website design, as well as digital tools such as Photoshop, Microsoft
Office Suite, and web-based teaching tools.
Multimedia
Professional Development: Customized,
school-specific Professional Development sessions in Smartboards,
Elmo Projectors, Website Design, Webquests, and Video, Streaming,
and Photography for curriculum use. Subject-specific design of
online websites with web-based software, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop
for enhancing multimedia classroom learning
